ATLANTA, Georgia, September 1, 2016 – The Eta Omega Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is pleased to announce that the Keynote Speaker at its annual Achievement Week Awards Banquet will be retired Army General William E. “Kip” Ward, inaugural commander of the U.S. Army’s Africa Command and a distinguished Omega Psi Phi Brother. The Banquet, to be held at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Hotel on November 6th, will honor Metro Atlanta residents and Omega Psi Phi Brothers for distinguished service this calendar year. The program will begin at 5:00 PM and is open to the public.
General Ward, who retired from the military in 2011, now serves as president and COO of SENTEL Corporation. Headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, this engineering, software, and logistics consulting firm provides support services to numerous government agencies as well as private sector companies. During his nearly forty years in the Army, Ward was stationed in thirty different locations and received numerous commendations. At his retirement ceremony, he was presented with the Distinguished Service Medal and a certificate from President Obama.
