On August 4, 2022, Eta Omega Chapter held its annual first in-person Talent Hunt event since 2019. Three accomplished high school performers took the stage at Atlanta’s Frederick Douglass High School and showcased their skills in front of family, community members and Omega Men.

Eta Omega’s first place Talent Hunt winner receives the Dr. Alfred D. Wyatt, Sr. Award. Bro. Wyatt is an Eta Omega member who served as the the Fraternity’s National Talent Hunt Committee Chairman in the 1980s. He also served as Eta Omega Chapter’s Talent Hunt Chair or Co-chair for nearly 60 years.

For the second straight year, the first place winner was Miss Jaivyn Beauford, a tap dancer who is an Honor Roll student at Sandy Creek High School in Fayette County. She received a check for $500 and will represent Eta Omega at the Omega Psi Phi Georgia Statewide Talent Hunt in the fall of 2022.

The other participants were winners as well, with each receiving recognition and monetary awards from Eta Omega Chapter. Taking second place was the talented Miss Zuri Crawford, who gave a vocal and keyboard performance. Miss Crawford attends the Dekalb School of the Arts and received a check for $300.

Mr. George Bostic of Southwest Dekalb High School played a trumpet piece for the crowd and received a check for $200. Congratulations to these outstanding young artists!
